All second grade students will be testing October 13-17.
In South Carolina, all 2nd graders take the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) and the Iowa Assessments in the fall as part of the state’s Gifted and Talented identification process. Scores show how students compare to other children their age, and those who meet the state’s guidelines may be considered for gifted programs. Parents can help by making sure their child is rested, encouraging them to do their best, and remembering the tests are only one part of the whole picture.
